bilodeaulynn Apr 23rd, 06, 07:23 PM If it has already been discussed, I apologize.

Feel sorry for this guy. Looks like a legit block, although the engine stamping pic could be a lot better.
He mistakenly listed the block as having been cast in Nov. It is clearly an I 24 8 casting indicating a Sept casting.
Anyone need an early block?
I am in no way associated with this auction.

Gary L Apr 23rd, 06, 07:41 PM A six used for a nine, correct?
bilodeaulynn Apr 23rd, 06, 08:30 PM Correct. Very common, even if not the norm.

Jonesy Apr 24th, 06, 05:04 AM That block is the real deal, IMO. One of the very few that you see that are real. I like all the experts chiming in and telling him off. Hopefully, it's nobody from this site.
Mwilson Apr 24th, 06, 05:19 AM Looks real
Gary L Apr 24th, 06, 08:32 AM Give the guy credit for posting all those asinine comments on the auction for all to see.
JimM Apr 24th, 06, 10:31 AM I sent the car a message asking him to look for a vin.

Jim, there are only two cars I know of that can talk. The 1983 Trans Am "Knight Rider" "Kitt" car and the 1928 Porter on "My Mother the Car"! (Are there more???)

I would jump on it. You probably won't find one better for a 10A, especially if it has no VIN.
bilodeaulynn Apr 25th, 06, 01:58 PM There are some numbers by the oil filter. Look at his updated questions and answers.
"Hi, there are no VIN's on the front pad but there are four numbers by the oil filter. The number is 3559"
As we all know, sometimes those numbers are very hard to read.

al8apexer Apr 25th, 06, 04:06 PM I say for the price it is a steal
so many "experts" scareing the real buyers away, this one will make someone VERY happy
Jonesy Apr 26th, 06, 06:03 AM If those are the last 4 numbers of the VIN, it would make sense for that time period that this engine came out of N513559 which would have been built 09D at Norwood. So if someone has the VIN 124379N513559, this could very well be your engine.
