So I am OFFICIALLY in the market for a TH350 t-brake tranny -

I have done all I can here with my 700R4 - last rebuild in '04 was with TCI racing overhaul kit & manual v-body upgrade - at that time clutches in the "back" as my builder said were burnt but not in "front"

I figure the same thing has happened again - it started flaring up on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift in my previous run - where I had my first new best 60ft for the night of 1.521

So I was in the limiter (with nitrous flowing- I know! - I know!) at the top of each shift and I ended up with a 11.673 1/4 pass et @ 108.44

My next pass as mentioned grabbed a 1.478 60ft - (brought up rpm on foot brake as much as possible) then I couldn't buy a shift from 1-2 or 2-3 or even 3-4 and just coasted after that for a grand 15 sec. pass!!!!

I don't necessarily need a brand name tranny - but your best tip for a builder - producer of a t-brake tranny 350 that will see up to 225hp NOS behind a small block and can grow with me - (as we always do in this game)

If you want O/D have a 200-4R built, or do a TH350 with a hardened sprag, shell & sun gear. Just be sure to have a trans done by someone who does race trannys, not stock street stuff or youll blow it up again.
Full manual valve body helps.

I would go to a TH400 if you plan a T-brake and N2O.

The TH-350 might save a little HP, but a TH400 will hold up a lot better.

yes - have been looking at mail order prices for TCI & ATI -

the TH400 is definitely coming in cheaper than the TH350 -

but I have heard that the weight consideration & hp to turn is greater for the TH400 than the TH350 -

I am definitely thinking that a TH400 might be the ticket for the long haul

Local for me because I am in the caribbean would be NY or Fl - our direct shipping points

So any local builders in NY or FL that I should contact - please let me know

There is a gal at www.dragraceresults.com in the bracket talk section that goes by "translady". Her and her husband own a pair of trans shops in Florida. She seems very knowledgeable in her posts compared to some of the others (and there are several good tranny "people" on this forum). I have not dealt with her or her husband personally, but they seem to know their stuff.

I sent her a link to this thread so maybe she will get in touch. It might be worth while to post over there if you don't her from her.

Man those are some good 60' times for the MPH!!! At my track im happy with a 1.6xx:( just can't get it to hook!!!! so it takes me 128mph to get a 10.77

Go with the th-400 with a Brake

According to your signature it looks like you have Hypereutectic pistons. If so, what brand and how many passes have you made on the bottle?

Thanks

they are # 618cp - speed pro I believe - 0.125" dome pistons - take outs from an engine a friend bought for circle track - and had to change

so far - I would say about 25 passes - but only about 8-10 at the 225hp range - but never less than 150hp - most at 175hp

I try to add everything for safety - (even window switch but not yet installed) seperate elec. fuel pump for nitrous, fuel pressure switch, WOT switch, msd retard box - use 5* as I have a slightly retarded timing setting anyways, and I use straight and/or mix race fuel with pump gas most times

I'm about to spray mine and I have KB hypereutectics. A bit nervous about doing it but people like yourself are doing it without problems. I'm running a separate fuel system, fuel pressure switch, oil pressure switch, MSD Digital 6 box with retard, throttle switch and MSD window switch, and I always run 114 octane race fuel.

Thanks
