Hank's 68

My 68 came from the factory with v6 and a manual trans. I bought it with a TH350. The crossmember is orginal to the car. As a result, access to the rear bolts on the trans pan are obstructed by the crossmember.
Please tell me the best way to remove the crossmember so I can access the pan. Is it as simple as unbolting it from each side? I assume I need to support the trans while i remove the crossmember. Can I simply use a jack to support it? Where should I locate the jack.
B/T/W. I figure I can get a crossmember for the TH350 that allows full access to the pan. Is this correct.
Thanks for you help

You have a V6 in a '68? Which one? Two bolts on each side and two in the middle under the trans. It should slide back enough to get at the bolts. Yes, you'll need to support the trans with a jack while you do this. The crossmember for a manual trans and the TH350 is the same as far as I know.

Thank you for the response.
I should have been clearer. Orginally it was a v6 manual. It now has a v8 with the TH 350. I have been looking around for crossmembers, and i thought I saw different one for manual and automatics.

Just to clarify, it may have come with an inline 6 (L6) but not a V6.
There are only three OE crossmembers for 67-69 Camaro.
L6/small block V8 - used for all manual (3- and 4-speed) and automatic (Glide and TH350); this is the crossmember pictured in the link you posted.
Big Block V8 manual - same general appearance as above, but the trnasmission mount holes are offset to the passenger side.
Big Block V8 auto - tubular crossmember used for TH400, same offset to passenger side.
You should be able to lift the tailshaft housing enough to move the crossmember back. While you're at it, you may want to see if your frame is drilled to allow the cross to be bolted further back. 69 has two sets of holes, because they came with the TH350 as OE.
