kz1000ltd Sep 18th, 00, 03:14 PM If you're really serious about it, lose the 305 and invest your money in a 350 short block. Spending money on building up a 305 is pissing in the wind, in my opinion. I know, I know, someone's going to disagree, and that's fine. However, for the money, the 350 will beat the snot out of the 305 99.9% of the time. You could build a pretty nice 350 with a thousand dollars, and I guarantee you'd be alot happier with the performance. KZ
pdq67 Sep 18th, 00, 03:31 PM KZ's not "pulling your leg". There is no substitute for "cubic inches" except "cubic money". As many 350's that there are around, it doesn't make since to build a 305, unless, of course you just want to. And if you want to, then by all means, do it. pdq67

Mark W. Winning Sep 19th, 00, 04:02 AM Unless you have a special attachment to the 05', ditch it for a 350. If you sink a grand into an 05'now and decide you want more later, you have to start all over again. Don't waste money, build it right the first time.

Big Block Dave Sep 19th, 00, 07:45 AM Trow dat 305 in the trash, but pull the heads.
Take your 58 cc heads and throw them on 350 shortblock...make some sweet compression and save a coupla bucks

shiner16 Sep 20th, 00, 08:35 AM i'd have to agree, 350's are so cheap and common, you can probably get one from your local machine shop for around 100 bucks, they always have a pile of extra blocks. Just a word of advice, dont pay extra for a 4bolt block, a 2bolt block with main studs is cheaper, stronger, and twice as easy to find.
