Read your excellent suggestions of how to
adjust doors, and got my driver door to fit
just fine with striker loose (had the usual
sagging doors). My problem is I can't move the striker far enough in to hold the door in a solid closed position. The door closes and then springs back open a quarter inch or so.
Is it time to get out the drill and alter the area the striker moves in, or did I do something else wrong? I don't understand how
this could get out of it's old normal range. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the striker is too far in already, its not catching all the way. What did you do to the car? Replace the 1/4s? Different door? Give me a little more info and I may be able to help you. Dont start the drill yet.
