I've been a wondering what exactly is the definition of a Supercar?
A COPO race version car?
A re-engined muscle car?

I'm just curious as the direction the industry has taken we now have 3 diffferent types of 60's musclecars and its confusing!!!

I believe it is basically the Copo's, Nickey's, Baldwin, Yenko's, special drag cars....like the Harell & Gibb cars.....etc...etc..

Go over to http://www.yenko.net/ and read all about em....A real nice site

depends on what brand your loyal to really, For me its Chevys so it would be the COPO/NICKEY/Yenko/DANA/Gibb type cars

For the Ford folks it would be the HI-Perf Shelbys/Mach I/Cobra Jets

The Mopar folks the likes of the Hemi and 440 cars would come to mind.

It also depends on what you like small or big block but since this is TEAM CAMARO i would go for the Dealer & COPO Built Camaros and its sisters :)
Chevelle and Nova :)

I don't think there is a widely agreed upon definition. You can use "supercar", "dealer built supercar" or "factory built supercar" but the definitions are still fuzzy. I personally like the definition of "factory built and delivered" cars like the COPO 427's, the COPO LT1 Nova's. I know a lot of people like the dealer engine swap cars more.

Would my 69 SS 396 L89 4 speed car make the grade?

An L89 is a factory RPO. While it is a very desireable piece, most "supercars" were copo's, or well know dealer transplants. Something that you could not order from GM through the normal ordering process.
Those L89's are very cool. Nothing like popping the hood, and seeing all that aluminum.
