View Full Version : Clutch rod hole size and location emdoller Apr 26th, 06, 12:04 PM What size hole do I need to drill for the clutch rod and how do I determine the exact location? Ed Eric Kammerer Apr 26th, 06, 12:09 PM Ed - Do you mean the hole in the firewall for the upper rod between the Z-bar and pedal? If so,the hole is in the firewall already; auto cars have a thin plate held on with two screws on each side. Look just below and to the driver side of the MC/booster hole. The clutch rod boot just attaches over the hole with the same two screws. emdoller Apr 26th, 06, 12:45 PM Eric, Thanks for the fast reply. To be honest I'm not sure. I was told I would need to drill a hole in the firewall for the clutch rod. From what you wrote, it seem sI don't (good news!!). So just remove the plate and use the screws to hold the boot... did I get it right? Ed 3forme Apr 26th, 06, 01:26 PM People like Eric are why we come here! Eric Kammerer Apr 26th, 06, 03:19 PM Yep! If you look at the larger photo of my firewall on the thread below, you'll see the clutch rod hole to the right and beneath the booster hole. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=80049 Should just be a thin plate with some sealant to take off, and screw the boot on, slide the rod through, and there you are. Ed Ed, I went from a standard to automatic trans and now need that same plate that you are taking off. Are you willing to part with it? Brent emdoller Apr 27th, 06, 01:16 PM Brent, I'm going to keep all the orignal parts should I decide to sell or covert it back. Sorry! Ed |
