Hey guys, I have found a guy who can get ahold of muncies intending on selling them.

I just missed a m-21 he sold for $550 not rebuilt. He says he is getting another rebuilt for around $700. Im not sure which kind, or what it comes with.

My question is what is a good price for each muncie?

M-20?
M-21?
M-22?

I guess their condition will be rebuilt and fully functional without bellhousing and shifer. Also, will the bellhousing from my saginaw work on a muncie? I beleive it will but want to make sure!

Thanks guys.

M20's and M21's are about the same, M21's maybe slightly higher, either will probably bring more if they are #'s correct for certain vehicles. Price at least doubles, if not triples for M-22's, good rebuildable ones are few and far between, can be worth alot of dough to somebody looking to do a 1000 point show quality restoration on a big block Corvette or Camaro, I've seen thing bring in the neighborhood of 2K.

When I wanted to replace my trans I was quoted 7-800 for a freshly rebuilt M-20 or M21. M-22's are much more.

You seem to be in the ballpark.

I wouldn't buy a used Muncie sight-unseen unless you know/trust the seller. By now, there's a lot of broken-down Munices being sold,..cracked cases, broken ears, useless main shafts, amateur repairs, etc.

Spend wisely.

Also, you can get a brand new Autogear Muncie in the gear ratio of your choice for about $2000,..and this unit is muuuuch stronger than the 30-40 year old used Muncie you're looking at. Might give it some thought.

i found a M22 from a guy at the flea market last year and it was for 75.00 Problem was i didnt have that kinda cash on me at the time. I looked it over and everything and he claimed it worked but second gear was bad. It angers me thinking about it now cause i knew what it was worth :-(
