Hit the track tonight.

Best Pass
1.5189 60'
7.037 1/8
97.40 1/8 MPH
11.1020 1/4
119.07 1/4 MPH

Also ran an 11.130@119.39 spinning a little
and an 11.135@118.13 spinning a little, Last Pass, air damp

I think with the 29 inch tall tire I'd be there. The 1/8 to 1/4 conversion shows that my 1/8 mile converts to a 10.797 1/4 mile

Using more of those nice equations, my MPH for a 11.102 should be 121.96 MPH.
My ET for 119.07 MPH should be 11.37

Shifting at 6100 and crossing the line at 6400. I swear that last 300 feet seems like it takes forever.

CONGRATS! your almost there.
sounds like a little more tire or gear just might do it.

So your car picked up a bit with open exaust, getting close.

Whats your fuel system like? You are losing some power on the back half, or does your motor fall off the power pretty bad through the traps?

Congrats on the new bests. I certainly would not expect a 10.79 on a 7.03 1/8th. You'd need to run ~6.85 to post a 10.79.

Sure you don't have too much gear? Like was said take a real good look at the fuel system it shouldn't feel flat tha last 300 ft unless something is wrong.

Congrats on the new best Bravewink! I would leave your gear alone -- looks perfect to me. You want to be past your shift point through the traps.

Just for reference you will need at least 120 MPH to go 10.99. My lowest MPH 10.xx pass was 10.99 at 120.1 mph with a 1.47 sixty foot. I've had several 11.0 passes at 120-122 MPH when the car doesn't hook hard.

To go 10.79 you will need about 122.5 MPH trap speed with a good sixty foot (mid 1.4's I think). That translates to about a 6.85 eighth mile time like 40 Coupe says.

Here's a little thumbrule formula that I have found to pretty accurate -- at least for my car.

Minimum MPH for a given ET

MPH = 1320 / ET

or for best ET for a given MPH

ET = 1320 / MPH

or "efficiency" (lowest number is best, usuually best is around 1320)

Efficiency = ET * MPH

Fuel system is 3/8 line from tank into 100GPH 7PSI Carter Electric Pump into 1/2 line into Fram Fuel Filter to 1/2 aluminum line all the way to the carb.

I thought I had a fuel system problem a few years ago which is why I switched to the electric pump, but no changes. It turns out the stock alternator didn't put out enough amperage to work my cheesy Unilite ignition system. A switch to a 150amp alternator cured all of my "fuel" issues.

The motor just seems happiest below 6000, or at least it seems like it's pulling best there.

Maybe a high speed air bleed change or small jet change up would help????

I KNOW I don't have alot of horsepower. I feel that the combo is more of a torque combo than horsepower. That's the way it was built, but you always try to get everything out of it.

Thought maybe a taller tire would help get me there and pull the last half of the track better.
