Which muffler performs better and sounds meaner, and
does anyone have a sound clip using the Borla's on a 383 they could post?

Thanks!

Kurt :beers:

I will see if I can find my sound clip of Borlas on my 388. If you know what sound you are looking for U may be able to offer a little insight. I have run quite a few different mufflers over the years. If you like deep solid sound, I think Hooker Aerochambers are the best thing going. They do not sound tinny, they will sound off when you mash the pedal. Borlas have a unique sound, deep, not tinny, with a little bit of a raspy sound. I'll look for my clip.

Thanks Guys,

FWIW, I do have a 2.5" dual exhaust system, no crossover (yet), using a set of Flowmaster Deltas that I has installed about 6 months before my ride became a total Resto/Mod/upgrade project. There is less than 1000 miles on them. Almost 4 yrs parked now . The Flowmasters (to me), were too loud. The Muffler shop I used, contacted Flowmaster, and their solution was to exit out the mufflers with 2.25" pipes to the rear. In which did tone it down. But to me that also chocked my exhaust.
I have been to the Borla site and have watched and listened to their advertisement more times than I can remember. I do like their Muffler tone.

I am looking for an awesome exhaust system for my project with great flow and tone characteristics. More like a sleeper system. When I redo my exhaust system, (pretty soon) I will start from scratch, so the existing set I have will be up for sale if it is worth it.

Doug: Very nice there. Thanks!
Now I remember what my exhaust system sounded like. Just like that!

I hope you find your Borla sound clip; I would truly like to hear it :)

Any additional help configuring a real good performing sleeper, not in my face but in yours (Imports,Fords,ext...) when I get on it exhaust system for my 385 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

My sound clips are gone. I thought I had them on a CD but, I can't find it if I do. My hard drive crashed not long ago and I lost my clips then. If you want quiet go with the Borlas. Don't get me wrong they aren't silent but, they do a good job of taming the exhaust note.

Borla .. Borla... Borla!!!!

Dude.... you simply cannot go wrong. whith these muflers you get absolutely the best of both worlds. Nice-raspy, nice-deep, nice-distinct, nice everything.

I don't think I'll ever chose another muffler again for my projects.

And they sound absolutely awesome either at idle, 3000 rpm or at full blast!
