Dave69Z Apr 29th, 06, 07:32 PM I am trying to track down some clunks and rattles. I noticed when I shake the rear tire there is a lot of end play and it makes a clunking sound. I know they all make some noise due to the c-clips how much end play is too much? big gear head Apr 29th, 06, 07:59 PM About 1/16 is not bad. If it is a posi rear end some of the end play can be eliminated by shimming or replacing the clutches. I'll put a dial indicator on some time soon and find out hoe much play it has.
