i have a vinyl top on the rear part of my car. It has formed rust under it and is bubbling. I was thinking about tearing it off, sanding down the top and just bringing it back to metal. I was wondering if any body else has done this and how hard it is.

I am going through that right now. I would suggest buying some POR-15 and some of their mixable putty. It is a time consuming process but will produce beautiful results if you can get the top smooth and if your rust holes are not too big. Good luck!
