I would not even take that one as a parts car let alone a project -- wonder what the reserve is

My father is a TV repair man , he has an ultimate set of tools. I can fix it" .."you can't fix this car Spicolie" ... " I can fix it "

Lets face it..he is selling the buildsheet and the cowl tag. Notice that there are first gen Camaro's on every side of this car in the pics? Whoever wins the auction will just have him mail the goods and what's left of that chassis will sit there until it is dust . He basically says in his auction to go put the tag on another chassis..get a VIN and register it.... amazing for a car that is so damaged it has a pretty nice build sheet !

How's the interior?

It's not that bad, really. I think most of it will buff out. :D

To be honest, I wouldnt be surprised at all that "this car" will surface in a couple years, completely restored. With the tags and paper, it'll likely get rebodied. CRG (if not already) should take note of the #s on it.

WOW......Did a bunch of you guy miss the mark on this car. See anything wrong with the top of the front cowl panel?

Yes that would be one of the two hidden VIN's that's already been cut away. This cars likely been rebodied a long time ago. At least they only got one vin from the 2 on the car as the other is still there.

Too funny!

Good catch, mister copo. I have to admit, I didnt look too closely at all the pics in the ad.

Wouldve thought that whoever cut the top hidden VIN wouldve taken the lower one also, much less the build sheet.

He already mentions in his auction that the VIN on top of the cowl was cut away..not sure what good it would do someone.. all it shows is a V8 Camaro . Maybe the insurance company cut it out..who knows...what I do know is that whoever was driving the car more than likely parished in that accident...wouldn't want that vibe..can you say "Christine"

Wonder how long that car has been there? Notice the Wide-Tread GT's tires? Wonder if this thing got wrecked back in the day?

Now, let's say someone re-bodies the car with a Repro Body. Per other threads, this doesn't appear to be illegal, as they are simply replacing the "part". Obviously the VIN is in bad shape, and hidden VIN's might be missing, but let's assume they transfer what they can.

They also transfer the subframe, steering column, and as much of what's salvageable as they can and do a phenominal restoration.

What does this car become? It's got good paper work. Nothing was done illegal, etc. Is it a clone of itself? A repaired car? Or what?

The issue will surface sooner than we think....

nothin on the body is good,

the only parts I would need to repanel that are the 2 dorr jam posts, and the rear inner supports, and rear package tray, all of wich are no good....the subframe looks like its about as strong as one made out of grham crackers...

if the cowl tag is placed on a dynacorn body, i guess it will be legal, cause we all know how easy it would be...but it will basically be a 69 z28 made in china......build sheets and all that will be meaningless......unless somebody wanted to sell the car for 80k then it will come in handy......

i know what your thinking, "well rusty69 what about your cars?" all ours are being made off a original camaro......its like this, least they will be back on the road...

im well aware my car will be 80% made in china, but i dont mind, ill never sell it..

Crush it into the smallest possible chunk, add a chain and have fun telling your friends you have a '69 camaro for an anchor!

Worthless junk IMO! That things toast! Part it? and scrap it!

Part what? Other than the build sheet and cowl tag. From the way the rest of the car looks I doubt if even the sub frame is worth trying to straighten.
I think I know what you meant though.
