i am considering buying a lincoln ac225
welder and was hoping that my stationary
woodworking machine electrical service would
suffice for its operation. i have a 40 amp
circuit breaker feeding into a 50 foot run of
Number 10 solid wire which terminates with
2 20 amp breakers in my shop , one of which goes into a short run of #12 romex ending at the 220v outlet for my tablesaw. am i going to have problems with tripping circuit breakers and possible overload if i try to use the welder on this line? will i be able to use the welder at the lower amperage settings, and if so, how high will i be able to go before i have problems. i guess i figured that the electrical service i have for my large stationary woodworking machines
would have been adequate for the A C 225.
will someone please elaborate on this concern
thank you very much, scott snyder

Not trying to chase you away but to lead you to a better answer. Go to this web site and ask them if what you have will work. This is Lincoln's site,

I don't think it will be a problem, as long as you don't exceed the 20 amp load.are both machines on at the same time ? I have a single 220 volt line for my welder, with the two 20 amp gang breakers, that works fine.
I think that in your case, as long as you can only use one machine at a time you'll be fine.Just my two cents http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

thanks tomstv for your help. actually that welder is a 50 amp input, so i hope that what i have set up electrically will suffice for now.
