Hello everyone, I was looking on ebay and seen a firewall pad. I was thinking of getting one to cut down noise and was wondering if anyone has one installed and how well it works. Thank's Scott

I treid to install a repro one last year on my 69. Got so fed up, I threw it away. Instead, I am doubling up on the "brownbread" insulation.

I can say that they are a pain in the a$$ to install. As far as cutting down noise, mine's a convertible so I'd have to attach a few to the roof to solve that problem.

Mine is a convertable as well, it's just that I pulled out the whole interior and am slowly getting it back together w/ new carpet, kick panels, door panels etc. But I still haven't installed the heater control, radio, or glove box door so it's kinda loud right now. I'm sure once I get that all installed it will be quieter but if I go the firewall pad route, now seems to be the time. Also I have a new Ron Francis wiring harness to install (not looking forward to that). Thank's for replying. Scott

I tried 3 different firewall pads the deluxe one from NPD turned out to be the best. It is about twice as much as any others.

I also bought mine from National, it worked out well.

Has anyone used any other sound deadener that doesn't look to ugly? I just don't want to see silver down by my feet.

The repo pad I bought about year ago from Rick's (I believe it was POP brand) is bad,..not authentic,..use of dime-store materials.

Don't know know of a "premium" pad,..do tell.
