I have a 1 1/2" narrowed 9" rearend I am about to put in my 68, I also have dearched springs. Will I need anything special? long u-bolts or offset shackels. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I just want to make sure I have everything I need for the weekend.

Are the spring perches already welded on? When I installed a 70 bronco rear end I had to cut off the orginal perches and weld in new ones. I Also used offset shackles, redrilled the axles and had to narrow my gas tank to take full advantage of the narrower rear end.
I know it sounds like a lot of work but these early 70 bronco rear end almost all have posi with 3.50 or lower gears and can be bought for next to nothing from a local salvage yard...or at least thats the was it was 15 years ago. Think I paid $150 for a complete 9" rear that was 1-1/2" shorter than a camaro 12 bolt that they wanted $800 for.
As far as I know the Bronco rear is the narrowest of all factory 9" and at one time were very common in the scrape yards.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the perches are already welded in. I am just going to try and put it in this weekend when I run into a problem, I guess I'll just have to deal with it then. Thanks again for your response.
