: Adding Power Steering to a 1967

We have a 1967 camaro with 250 CID and 3 speed on the column (Wifes first car). This car has factory underdash air unit, and does not have power steering or power brakes. I would like to add power steering.

I have a power steering pump and brackets off another car but that car did not have air. My car had double belt pulleys on the harmonic balancer and water pump, allowing one belt to operate the alternator and one belt to operate the compressor. The car I got the power steering pump and brackets off of had a similar two belt system with one operating the alternator and the other operating the power steering pump.

I do not readily see that I can operate both the compressor and the power steering pump with a two belt system. Can someone tell me if I work the pump with the 2 belt system or do I need to go to a 3 belt system and get different pulleys and brackets?

I checked my factory assy. manual and on pg. 87, it shows a 3 belt-pulley set-up to run the a/c and a p.s. pump with 2 grooves one for the pump and one to run the air(smog) pump if it's equipped with one. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. Now to find the 3 belt pulley and harmonic balancer. Does anyone happen to have any of these parts laying around or know of a source?
