What month did the 69 drivers door start getting the embossed section above the latch for the blue vin decals and were any decals installed before this change happened ?

He is talking about the two "ribs" on the driver's door jamb, used to locate the blue mylar VIN sticker, or decal. The ribs appeared sometime in late June or early July. The blue VIN sticker was a 1970 model year requirement, and since the 1969 Camaro run continued into the 70 model year, the 1969 1/2 Camaros were supposed to get the decal.

I have seen some July cars with the ribs but no decal. Also, my car is an 08A car built after the BDY number reset, so you would expect it to have the decal, but it did not. There is a white Z/28 in Jerry M's book that is also an 08A car, 86 digits after mine, and it does have the decal, so it is safe to say the decal started going on first week of Aug. 1969.
