I have a stock 305 that started tapping/knocking, It does it when I start it and increases during acceleration. I'm sure it's a rod tapping but I don't know how to change one. If anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks

How many miles are on the engine? If the car was driven hard then it is possible for the bottom end to go out sooner than expected. Try using a thicker motor oil and see if that helps. I had a car with a lower end knock and used 20w-50w motor oil and it helped quite the knock.

It has 91,000 miles. I didn't drive it hard, sure I'd tromp on it every once in awile, but other then that I drove it normal. I noticed it as a quiet knock, so I checked the oil and it was way low almost empty. I put some oil with synthetic in it and to see if that would help, but still the same. I'll try th 20w-50w oil and see if it works. Thanks and any more suggestions are great.
