I have a 67 Firebird with auto tranny and would like to install a 68-69 Camaro Horseshoe shifter(square shaped) to the 67 Firebird as I 've always loved how they look. Question is is it an easy conversion?? What pieces do I need exactly??

BTW, I currently have a center console with automatic shifter(Original factory 67 f-bird shiffter). Can I re-use the 67 Firebird center consoel and just change the shifter and possibly the trim plate around the shifter??

Thanks, chris

while the 67 consoles are the same between camaros and 'birds, 68 and 69s are different

if you want to shifter from a 68 you will need a 68 or 9 console, the entire shifter assembly, and i think you will need a shift cable. My 67 had solid linkage while the 68 or 9 used a cable

the whole conversion should be pretty easy, as long as you get everything that you need, it will get frustrating to to the swap if you are missing pieces

To clarify, aside from 67's, are the 68/69 Camaro Center console with Horseshoe shifter the same as the 68/69 Firebird console and shifter???? Thanks, chris
