I'm looking at this water pump in the classifieds: http://www.camaros.net/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=8521
I don't currently have a water pump yet, the cooling system on my camaro will likely be fairly stock, I'd like to use the stock pulleys, brackets, etc., and a stock type 4 core rad. I likely don't need an aluminum water pump, but I wouldn't mind saving a tiny bit of weight, and I'm thinking it might perform a bit better than the stock type, plus it sounds like a fair price to me. The seller recommended I ask someone about the lack of a water pump bypass usually located on the top of the pump on more modern pumps. The car is a '68 camaro with a 427 - the block originated as a mid 70's 454, but now has a 427 crank, pistons, etc. You can see pics if you click the link in my signature. Would this pump suit my application? Thanks.
