I've got a set of Cometic head gaskets for my ZZ502, and after laying them down I can see that the hole at the front of the block is completely covered and the hole at the back of the block is 60% covered.

The coolant holes at the buttom of each cylinder are fine.

With a blower motor I really don't want to reduce coolant flow to the chambers in any way.

Any idea why they would omit or obscure these passages?

Sounds like a Gen IV head gasket on a Gen VI block issue. Are the bores large enough? (no SS bead in the bore).
