so far so good. Windshield out...welded dash in...windshield in...but the moulding around the glass doesn't wanna fit anymore.

I think the problem is the black window weld. Like suggested on the resto page here, i chose the 5/16 thickness.

Will the glass "settle" and crush that black gasket after it gets hot in the sun? It has a good seal all the way around...but it is just a tad higher than before. I don't want to push real hard (especially when the temps are only in the 60's here). Next week when the sun is out, I will push a little more.

Any suggestions on settling and/or trim fitting?

thanks all.

Oh and by the way..the suggestions on the tech page were RIGHT ON. Great feature it saved me having someone come and do it ($$) and I learned alot!

Do you have the right clips installed??
The top of the clip should be about 1/32 or 1/64 of an inch from the top surface.

Yes the buytl tape will compress, you can push pretty hard as long as you don't concentrate your pressure in a small area.

As far as I know the clips are the right ones. Standard GM and the same (except new) that was on before I changed the glass.

That seems right...about 1/32 (aka just a hair)

Ill pray for sun and then have my wife help me push the whole top edge in and see if that solves it.

thanks

Never done a windshield, but maybe a hot air gun might help? Carefully and evenly, of course! http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif
