Hi,
I have a 1996 3.8l camaro and it's leaking coolant in an awkward place. It is above and behind the water pump and under the throttle body; I can't see what's causing the leak because part of the engine block is covering the source. I was able to feel a small hose and the gasket it was connected to was all smooshy. I tried looking in my manual but there is no information on this tube, is it a bypass hose? I have read the hose fittings may be plastic and they can get brittle and break with time. Has anyone else had this problem? While the engine is running, the coolant flows out of this area, I'm not sure if it's the hose or fitting or both, anyone know what the hose is? I know it's not the water pump because I replaced that because I thought the weep hole was wet do to the pump failing when in fact it was actually coming from above the pump. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I am going to my friend's mechanic shop tomorrow to get his advice too, and maybe print off some info from AllData.

Sound similar to what's on my 01 Silverado. The throlle body actually has two hoses, one in and one out, that carry coolant to the TB to keep it warm.

Should be able to see the two tube nipples on the figure at the above link.
