I am getting ready to order some new 2 5/8 Oil, Water and Volt gauges for the '67. I will mount them under the ashtray.

I am having a hard time deciding between white and black faces. The white are eaiser to read but don't really match my black interior. The black are harder to read and do match the black interior.

What do you guys think?

I have a black interior and I installed the white face gauges not only in a custom console below the dash but I also made my dash gauges white as well. Take a look below. I hope it helps you make up your mind.

Funk,
I've been wrestling with this also...I wanted to keep my interior stock in "look and feel", but with some modern capabilities. I had a chrome 3 gauge pack under the dash, but to me it looked a little tacky...

I took my 67 non-gauge console and am converting it to the 67 gauges...except I am putting 2-5/8 autometer BLACK pro comps in the holes. (I have to work the nerve up to cut the original console...and I have to grind out the gauge console to fit the bigger gauges).

I have the 2-5/8 gauges in hand, and they are plenty big and easy to read in black in my opinion. I haven't finished my console yet so no pics. I hope to work on it this weekend and can put some pics up for you.

It was a fine line for me to decide what could be converted to aftermarket and what needed to stay stock-looking. What I decided on was factory speedo and tach up top...3 gauges as I mentioned down on the console, and 4th gen seats, reupholstered in something similar to 67 deluxe styling (although I haven't found a place to do it within my budget yet...)

Take care,
Scott

I would have to say the black face gauges are a better match to the existing speedo and fuel gauge in a 67.

The ultra lites tho, are perfect in a 68.
