I plan on changing my interior from a standard to custom (delxue) interior on my 1967 Camaro Convertible. I have done some searching and found some information but I still have some questions. To start I am not to interested with having the complete transformation. I am mostly interested with seats, door panels, dash pad, etc. I am looking at interior kits from companies like classic industries, etc.
1) Are the seats the same between a standard and custom? So the actual frame is the same. So if I get the custom cushions the seat covers will fit properly?
2) Does anybody have a link on how to modify the window crank for the front doors?
3) Is there any additional bracing I need to buy for any of the panels?
4) Besides trim pieces, etc is there any differences between the 2 interiors that makes it either imposible to do or requires a large amount of fabrication to complete?
5) Where would people recomend buying quality interior components?
Thanks in advance.

Seat frames are the same, but seat buns differ between standard and deluxe.
Window regulators are different for the deluxe door panels.
No additional bracing, but you will need a different door handle assembly, and also a little L shaped bracket for the door panel.
If you are looking for good quality interior parts, Use Al Knoch door panels, and PUI seat covers. They are available from quite a few places, but I use D&R 1-800-472-6952 Ext 610 Jake.

Are seat buns the same as cushions? If not what are they?
Are the regulators different or just the length of the crank rod? I have not seen anything about the regulators.
What is the little L shaped bracket used for?

I can't answer the questions about the seat because I got a set of deluxe seats, but I am told they are different bases used between the std and dlx.
The regulators are different in that the dlx handles have a screw (allen) holding the handle on. Length is also different but can be used if you drill and tap the regulator. Regulators for dlx are available from most catalogs.
The "L" bracket screws into the inner door and is where the 2 screws that are in the cup for the door handle attach and give support so the door panel doesn't bow when closing the door.
I hope this info helps.

Addressing the difference in front seats between standard and deluxe. There is an inverted U metal rod in both types of seat backs that you will hogring the spline from the vinyl thru the foam buns into the seat back, so the seat back has the proper depression. The deluxe seat back has this inverted U rod higher than the standard seat back. However, you can separated the barrel clips from the rod in a standard seat back and move it higher and re-clip to accomodate deluxe vinyl. You will need the upper deluxe foam buns for this height difference. As for the bottom seat buns, I have only redone a standard bench bottom and deluxe bucket bottoms so I can't give you a definitive answer for the bottoms.

I just went from standard to deluxe in my 67. The rear seat in the standard is wider than the deluxe, but should be the same in your vert. I changed the seat foams in the front buckets, but no other changes. Had an upholstry shop modify the rear seat cover to fit, seats look very nice. You will have to change out the window regulators (don't forget to grease them before you put them in, learned the hard way). I can't think of anything else that hasn't already been mentioned above.
