I Have a 68 camaro with a 327. It originally had a 4 barrell, it has high performance heads. It was not originally a 327, but I think the motor came out of a L-79 but I don't really know, where are the little numbers I can look the engine up located.

just in front of the RH cylinder head there is a pad with the numbers stamped on it. There will be a number with a two or three letter code after it.

This page will help you understand the stamped codes: http://www.nastyz28.com/sbchevy/sblock.html#ecode
The suffix number breakdown page is linked at the top of the page. You should also get the block's casting number located behind the LH head.
