I'm planning the interior of my 68 convertible and would like to use a modern seat with built-in seat belts. Has anyone tried to install these in a first gen Camaro? I see them in a lot of new convertible cars, but don't know anything about their mounitng requirements.

I would like to keep my original console if possible, but most of these new seats look too wide.

Thanks,
Rob C.

Hi, I just wanted to comment on the width of the front bucket seats. The distance between the inner rocker panel and the console is not great enough for many of the newer seats. I have a pair of leather seats from a 2000 Eclipse that would not fit. They had to be installed above the inner rocker, and sat to tall in the car. I have replaced these seats with Corbeau GTSII's, that fit very nice.
