96' Z28 67,000miles.

Not really sure how to describe this, but I will do the best I can. I was on cruise control doing 75 when the car started to sputter in and out of speed. I turned off cruise and it was still doing the same thing. Going from 65 back to 75 and jumping around. I stopped at a gas station, gave it oil (quart low) and turned around, not sure what was wrong. It ran fine for awhile, then suddenly it began to do the same thing again and this time my RPM gauge dropped to zero, but I was still doing 75. It ran fine again for a little while and then I attempted to turn a corner and the engine turned off. Took me about five minutes to get it to go again and when I did it sounded like paper was caught in a fan (best way I can describe the noise) I managed to get it home, but now it won't even start. When I go and try to start it up, I get this lound grinding/squealling noise and it won't even turn over. (I don't even want to attempt with that noise) All my fluids are full, hoses, belts look fine from what I can see.

Does anyone have a single clue what might be a problem, I have very limited resources to check for problems myself, just trying to get a general idea.

Did you get a check engine light or any of the gauges on the dash, such as the volt or temp gauge reading differently than normal? My guess is that it's possible either the alternator or water pump went out. Perhaps the noise you are hearing is the gringing noise of the bearings. Have someone crank over the engine (if you can) and try to isolate where the noise is coming from. You can also remove the belts and spin each pulley to see if they turn freely.

Yes the first time that the engine cut off, the check engine light came on, however it has not come on everytime that I have attempted to turn the car over, just occasionally. My volt and temp guages are perfectly fine, I even removed my audio equipment from the battery, just in case.

Alternator was a thought I had myself, but was unsure. My water pump did go out last year, so I hopefully assume that it is not that same. (Plus the "symptoms" were differnt with the pump)

A charging system problem can cause all kinds of poor running issues and if not enough power gets to the engine control systems it won't even start. Start with a fresh charged battery and see if the car starts. If so your last trip out you most likely ran the whole time on the batterys power and it wasn't being recharged.

You really can sink a ton of money into a modern car trouble shooting hit and miss. If the car starts with a fully charged battery be ready to take it to someone place that has an odbII diagnostic and get it checked out...

Remove the belt and turn the alternator by hand, my bet is on the alternator bearing going bad or is bad. A worn out alternator bearing can and will stop an engine. You will probably hear grinding from the bearing when you spin the fan on the alternator.
