I'm installing my new master cylinder and power booster on a car that previously did not have power brakes. What's the best way to mount the distribution block? The old bracket won't put it under the MC and won't fit with the new PB brackets. Does it even need to be supported?

Yes it should be supported. On my car, the proportioning valve is supported with a bracket which is fastened to the left master cylinder nut. Why doesn't the bracket mount underneath the master? Can you cut or modify it?

It originally was mounted to the firewall with the MC, but with the new booster, the bracket won't fit anymore. I guess I could make one, or mount the old bracket to the booster with the MC.

I guess GM thought it was a necessary to have the proportioning valve supported at the master with a bracket. Just think of all the money GM would of saved, by not having to spend it on that bracket per car. It adds up $$$!
Sorry Step Toe.....They do not reproduce that bracket for the original prop valves that I know of..... so you are SOL!.....That is a saying that we have in the states here. :)
