Stupid quick question. I picked up a 3 inch fiberglass hood for free last night. It is black with white stripes. I want to take it down to a clean no paint finish so I can put it in primer. Can anyone recommend the proper grit needed to take the paint and stripes off with out warping or damaging the hood? Thanks for any help. BTW the lawyer states that I can work on the car but asks me not to sink any extreme amount (anything over 500 dollars!!!) into the car at this time. I'd strip it rather than sand it. You can get stripper that's made for fiberglass. If you try to sand it, it's probably going to end-up wavy.
