View Full Version : Brake Pedal Install? Difficult?

After reading everyone's posts this looks like a very easy 5-minute job.

Why then won't my pivot pin slide through the bushings?

I've tried grease and force--neither works.

I know many of you have installed new brake pedals--was it hard to get it in? Did you install the bushings first, then the pin?

Help.

I install the bushings first, then the pin. You just have to work with it because it is such a tight fit. Are you using the black replacement bushings? They seem to be harder to install, maybe they are a little thicker than the OEM bushings. Just work with it and use grease, but don't over do it with the grease because that takes up space too. It my take a little effort, but you will get it.

I'm using the white OEM bushings--I started with 8 of them and am down to 6 left (I need 4) because they keep shattering when I try to push the pivot pin in.

From reading other's email accounts of installing the pin, it seems like it was very easy for them to do...
