Anyone have any experience with these products. I have a basically good trunk pan that has some surface rust and pitting that I want to clean up and seal. Or any other suggestions. If this stuff works the plan would be to seal the rust and then fill, sand, prime and finish.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hop thru my pics of my trunk project here. might give you some ideas. I sanded, patched big holes with POR putty and then added POR fine hair fiberglass, pressed it into the putty and let it dry. Sanded down then painted with POR gray, and then spackle, 2 coats and 2 coats of clear spray bomb. Its not perfect but I dont have welders and such. :)

I've used Rust Bullet and it seems to go on well with a brush or paint gun. You would have to use another prodcut to fill the pitted sections.

I've used por paint and putty with zero problems. Some is 6 years old and over old paint and it's still stuck tight.

Used both POR and Rust Bullet.
They both go on fairly thick. The thing I like about Bullet is there's only one step..... paint it on.

Just be careful when you apply the POR-15. I didn't realize that I must have had an itch on my forehead and I wound up looking like Mikhail Gorbachov until it exfoliated away.... :-)

Oh... and both POR and Rust Bullet contain isocyanates! I'm sure the others do as well.
"The reactivity of isocyanates makes them harmful to living tissue. They are toxic and are known to cause asthma in humans, both through inhalation exposure and dermal contact. Exposure to isocyanates and their vapors should be avoided."

Use PLENTY of fresh air and preferably have a fan blowing the fumes away from you as you WEAR A RESPIRATOR and GLOVES to apply either one.
