does anybody know where I can get a aluminum electric fan shroud for a stock size small block radiator? all the ones from summit ect are to big. If I have to resort to making one I will but wanted to avoid it. thanks guys Ryan

well, lets see, many of the electric fan manufacturers sell shrouds, like you said, they may be too big.

You might contact Don at Alumitech, he sells stock size rads, and he sells an optional spall electric fan setup with shroud that does fit them.

I had a custom alluminum shroud made by Wade at http://www.mahaffery.com, it's a sweet peice, he'll custome make em for anything.

thanks Jim how much did a custom shroud from mahaffery run ya, getting one made really looks like the way to go just curious but what fan are you running...just putting the cooling system together for my 383 and want her to cool real nice, I got the summit rad to...looks REAL nice for the price.

We offer custom made aluminum shrouds for anything you have. We have the capability to design your radiator or shroud & e-mail a dimensional CAD drawing to you while you're on the phone with us. You supply the dimensions and we create it!

The shroud cost me $250, and worth every penny. I use an engine driven 17" Derale flex fan and a 180 richardson / mr gasket high flow thermostat and wieand alluminum pump. She runs at 175, period end of discussion never higher.
(note I am not a fan of electric fans. My Derale will turn as long as the motor does without fail, and damned near moves enuf air to blow the hood right off the hinges)
