All,
Is it normal for the booster to emit a very audbile "whoosh" when I step on the brakes?
I don't think my old booster did this...

I had a similiar problem with my booster.
The problem was where the rod from the pedal connects to the booster. Or actually goes inside the booster. There should be a small ring of foam to dampen the "sucking sound". The sound/sucking itself is normal operation of the booster "boosting" (letting air inside the rear chamber, thus creating vacuum to the front chamber, and voila, boosting the brakes)
Don't ask how I know,
(tore my booster down to find out how it works, and why it makes a whoosh sound  )

I had the same experience with my booster. No one could help me. The whoosh sound eventually went away by itself. Thanks for the answer.

The "Woosh" is a good sound and is normal on Camaro and other power boosters. The sound is always there, but only if you are paying attention to it otherwise it goes unnoticed.

It's worse the more travel you have. The more air you get out and the better bedded the brakes are, the less travel, less woosh.
