I'm want to upgrade my suspension, so it will handle like a modern car (pro touring?) What is the best suspension (IFS/IRS, Heidts, etc) for the money....I can't go to crazy on price. Thinking of replacing the subframe, springs, disks, etc. Thanks

I went with the Hotchkis springs front and rear with global west tubular upper arms, hotchkis front swaybar. This with a rebuilt front-end, Iroc steering box, solid body bushings and some subframe connectors really changed the dynamics of the car. The hotchkis system seems like a reasonably priced way to improve the handling.

It's best to lay out what you're willing to spend and what you're ultimate goal for the car is then decide what would work best for your budget.

Guldstrand mod, 2" drop front springs and DSE 3" drop rear leafs. A good set of shocks. Better tires.

Depends on what you plan on doing with the car. Is it a driver or will it see any track time?

It's a driver. I don't plan on taking it to a track. Althogh I would like it to handle like a pro-touring car.

I went with Detroit Speed and Engineering. Baer brakes, coilovers on all corners, Quadra-link replaced the leafs in the rear...you want real pro touring...this is the set up! Check out the cardomain site for pics (page 2)

What he said (Fuego396). If you want the best set up on the planet right now it's the Detroit Speed 4 link and soon they will have a subframe that will take a 10" front tire. The handling is world class for a muscle car - the ride is comfortable. If you don't want to get that nuts and you just want to update they have front and rear spring kits and a sway bar similar to Hotchkis. You need to decide your budget - then your performance goal - then you can decide on your mods. There is a ton of info on this (it will make your head spin) do a search and then overdose on the information. Also go to David Pozzi's web site (he is the moderator here) and get an education on 1st gen suspension. Hope this helps.

I just saw an ad in Super Chevy from Heidts Hot Rod Shop. They are soon going to offer a 4 link rear that bolts in and no modification to the floor like the DSE. They said its starts at $995.00 I have there Control Arms with QA1 shocks and love them. I also have Wilwood 4 Piston Brakes all around and love them also. They are a little cheaper than the Baer. Just my 2 cents

It depends on your goal. If you want a easy four link then get it. However, a good set of leafs will outperfom the Heidts set up.
