Doubt it. Usually mail order is the best bet, you can spend as little or as much as you want.

Look in the Yellow pages under "tools" or "industrial supplies".
Anyone that sells cutting tools (drills/taps/dies) should have them on the shelf. Being on the East coast, you probably have an MSC close by. They are a huge catalog house that will have a cheap $20 dollar indicator on up to the name brands (Starrett,Mitutoyo,Brown & Sharpe) in stock.
We stock them here in Omaha, but thats a long ways away from you.

Try Northern Hydraulics or Harbor Freight tools.
Both should have dial indicators as well as magnetic bases.

Try KBC tools, huge machine tool supplier. www.kbctools.com/
You'll need a Mag base as well, as stated earlier.

I got mine at Berlands house of tools, not sure if they are all over or not. They had several, I got the inported dial indicator and mag base for about $75 for the pair, it seems to work well, tho the base could have a stronger magnet, it prefers flat surfaces.

Grainger has a lot of choices for dial indicators.
