When painting a 69, is the firewall the same color as the body or is it black like the fender wells?

All the firewalls i've ever seen, are black,from the factory.

The firewall is black just like the inner fenders. I have talked with different people concerning the horizontal portion just in front of the cowl some say body color some say black. I believe this portion should be body colored and masked off at the bend line.

Actually the dividing line from the cowl to the fire wall should be feathered in with a very slight over spray from body color to fire wall black, but I have also observed the black being applied last with black feathered over the main body color at the top of the fire wall.. Rustoleum #7777 works well with a 30% gloss effect..
