Could someone please tell me what should be the color of the small brackets that hold the tall bumper guards on? I assume some shade of black or should they be a cast or natural color.

I squirted mine with a clear coat in order to prevent any future oxidation. As far as the correct color, no idea.

I put an nos set on the front of my 67 and the bracket that holds it to the top of the bumper was zinc (silver) color, almost like rough metal was submerged in the chrome tank when they did the guards themselves (kind of what the back of a newly chromed bumper looks like. The rears if I remember right where bare steel looking so I had mine chromed...Hope this helps (the bolts where zinc also by the way)
