Well I got it back. it's a mixed bag:
When I took it to them they said "400-500 per side", and started over to the passenger side. I told him the passenger siode was fine[I've gone over this car quite a bit, waxed it quite a bit, to make sure everything looks perfect 100% of the time, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY HINT of rust]. I go to pick it up, and he says "How much did I tell you, seems a bit worried. I told him 400-500. he said "oh, thats right, per side". He never made up a work order.....I said "yes, but it was only that one side. He said they did BOTH sides. I asked why, since only ONE side had rust. He claimed it had a very visible rust spot in the same place. I tols him I thought that was odd, considering I went over the car SEVERAL times before taking it to the shop to make sure there wasn't else I wanted them to take care of while it was in. Well, since he didn't make an order, he said it was his fault and would only charge me $500 and lick his wounds. It needed to be buffed, I could pick it up in the evening. Here's the kicker: where they resprayed the 1/4's, there was some "extra" clear built up on the top of the 1/4 to rear deck crease. I figured they take it off during the buff. I was at work, so had to have my parents who live in the neighboring town get it for me. I get home and inspect it. THE RIDGE IS STILL THERE! I had to wet-sand it down myself, then buff it and did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. They matched the paint well, but since I gave the the exact paint it had on it wasn't hard(the DUMB part:, they tried to match it themselves unsuccessfully several time before ordering what I had told them to do when I dropped it off, becuase he was "sure it was a original color", but guess what, he was wrong)
The end result, with my help after the fact, looks very good. An the quarter repaint fixed all the chips behind teh rear wheel.
But like a co-worker said when I tried to consider I paid for half, and it is now better than it was "When you take your car in for something like that, you expect a good job and thats what you should get!"
Well, at least it is RUST FREE now, and not just looks like it is!! And it looks more of a show-car than it did before
