Hello, I'm restoring a plain-jane '69 camaro for my wife after 10 years of helping me out with circle track racing. After disassembling the rolling chassis that we bought, (an ex drag car) we realized we didn't make the deal we thought we did. Anyhow, I'm replacing the floor by using a one piece floor, both rear frame rails, and a one piece trunk floor. I'm using mostly dynacorn parts.

Well, here's where you guys come in... Could you be so helpful as to give me the measurements from the front of the trunk floor surface to the top of the rear window package tray? Please let me know where you measured from, I just need to know how high the floor has to be in the car in the front. Her V-braces behind the back seat are gone because they used a roll cage, and The old trunk floor was a mess of patches. If one of you guys could measure this for me, I would be most appreciative.

I am looking forward to belonging to the treasure trove of infomation that this board has become.

Thanks a ton,

Scott from Beaver Dam, WI

Scott I am not too far from you. I have two 69's you can measure off from if you want.

if you drill out and replace the old frame rails the trunk panel will sit right where it belongs...

cause if yours or somebody elses package tray is off "36 year old metal", then your going to have to missadjust your frame rails to make up the difforance...

better off flipping the one piece floor upside down, and welding the frame rails to the bottom of the floor...

then set the floor in place, linning up the floor panel to the firewall toe panel...and the rear of the frame rails up to the rear valance..then the trunk floor would sit where it belongs......

since you dont have a jig, i would make templates....referance braces to line everything up....take a look at my car domain, you can see some good referance points....

Scott, from the trunk floor to the package tray base is 13 3/4"
I measured where the speaker holes are on the package tray , left and right are the same.
