'67 coupe with a vinyl top. 327 4 speed car. The front seat was a bench seat with bucket backs, the seat backs looked just like the seat backs on my '68, but the bottom was a bench. Is this rare or is the seat out of something else?

That's what I was thinking, but from how he described it I wasn't sure if maybe it wasn't a mid 60's GM split bench.

I didn't know they had bench seats in camaros, I also didn't notice and brackets for arm rests, but I wasn't really looking for them either.

Yep, sounds like a standard bench seat (sans armrest). They are pretty rare, and lots of them got pulled out during restores for buckets.

I tried to order mine with a bench but couldn't b/c in order to get the full gage package, a console was required so there went the bench seat!!

i also wanted the optional fold-down rear seat, but again, couldn't order it b/c of my wanting a stock, rear speaker!

Those are the only two options I couldn't get on my car besides me NOT wanting P/S, P/B's, A/C or an A/T!!!

I did buy P/W's tho!!

the front bench seat was offered in the 67 and 68 Camaro never in the 69. I dont know how many were built in 67, but less than 1000 were built in 68.

I have also seen a bench seat in a 67. I new a guy who had the coolest car that I have ever seen. It was a 67 Z28. The car had a bench seat in front with a fold down seat in the back. It had a 1970 1/2 Z28 LT1 in it with the largest rad I have ever seen. It was painted Penske blue with Magnesium American Racing wheels and bizarre flared fenders that were heat stretched originals front and back. It also had the cowl mounted air cleaner all made out of aluminum, and an M22. By far the nastiest car I have even driven in. It would completly take your breath away, twice as fast as any hemi, it gave a whole new meaning to the word traction. Proably the thing that still stands out the most about that car was the bench seat. Has anybody else out there ever heard of any cars like this.

To me, rare would be a bench seat along with a fold-down rear seat and a 3-speed OD on the floor!

BUT, I don't know if they sold a 3-speed OD on the floor??

And believe it or not, I woulda really liked to had a 3-speed OD tranny car!

best of both worlds back then, but not as quick as a 4-speed tho.....

That was called the "Strato-Bench" seat. :)

I have one of those in a 67 Deluxe interior. I took it out tho. Just sitting on the shelf, ho hum...

I don't see where the rear speaker would interfere with the fold down rear seat. In fact, I had a 67 with the fold down seat, and U80 rear speaker.

Maybe it was b/c I also ordered a rear antenna that mounted on the pass. side rear fender??

Anyway, the Salesman said I couldn't order a fold-down rear seat if I remember right.. It seems like he said that I had to give something else that I wanted more than it for it????
