I have a 68 six banger with a centre console. Bought it twenty years ago from the original owner with the protecto plate etc. I have always wanted a 69 Z28. Should I keep my car and clone it or sell it and buy a real 69 Z or build a 69 clone. I know clones seem to be a bad word, but when it comes down to dollars and cents, what would be the right move. Not mearly a moral dilema, but a finacial dilema as well.

in my opinion, i don't see anything wrong with a "clone" if your honest about it..my 69 as best as i have been told here on TC, is an SS it has all the signs for a SS..but all the emblems are Z/28 when i bought it... i left everything as they were, even though SS isn't bad either..:clonk: ..how many L.A. Z/28 owners have all their paper work? some here im sure..but an L.A. car with no docs? is kinda hard to decode unless you have a the right matching numbers,drivetrain, exc...when people ask me about my Z i tell them it is an SS but not really sure with out doc's..so a long story short clone it..

to tell you the truth..you sound like you really love 69's..i would only fix up the car you will really be happy with..i would hate to see you fix up a car...dump lots of money in it, to look back and say "i wish i had a 69" just my opinion...
