On a '69, what sort of hardware (bolt & nut, self tapper, rivet, etc.) was originally used to attach the front spoiler to the lower valance panel? Was it different for dealer-installed kits vs. factory installed?

Spoiler-to-valance attachments on factory-installed units were loose nuts and bolts, as were all the brace rod attachments. Don't know what was in the dealer kit, and the "hardware kits" sold by the repro parts houses are all wrong - they have four big 5/16"-18 "U"-nuts instead of loose nuts. Shown clearly in Section D-80 in the A.I.M.

Thanks for the info. I was at a show a couple of weeks ago and saw what was supposed to be a nut and bolt restored 69 Z and the front spoiler was pop-riveted on whereas mine is bolted on. Just wasn't quited sure which way was right - thanks.
