A 1/2 in. drive socket and long ratchet on the end of the crank will do. I like to have a helper so you can concentrate on watching the dial indicator.

I turned mine with the power steering pump pulley because it was easier to get to.

If you pull the balancer, they make a keyed 1/2" socket that fits on the crank snout. That will let you turn it both ways, too.
I hate trying to turn a motor with that lil bolt that holds the balancer on, always afraid it's gonna break.

I like this tool, bolts to the balancer.

Just a thought, would that work, with lager holes, over the bolt heads, on the pulley ? Or with three 12 point sockets on one tool ?

They work good. Just be sure to tighten them evenly and slowly or you will end up with a 'two-legged' one like mine...it still works though.
