sjg34 May 24th, 06, 04:10 PM I can’t say anything for mattsclassicbowties but I purchased a kit from whitemanford on eBay for my 68 and was very happy. As I remember it was $369 + freight
GWM 68 May 24th, 06, 04:31 PM I`ll second the whitemanford recomendation! Good product for a good price!
JimM May 24th, 06, 04:42 PM There are a lot of company's selling kits like that one. They are stock 69 front brakes, repro and autoparts store stuff. $400 is a decent price, and it's sometimes worth it to get everything you need in one box. Might be cheaper to piece it from a repro house and a local auto parts store, especially if you're willing to cut down your drum spindles per http://www.pozziracing.com but of course you'd have to shop and buy every little part.

thedugan May 24th, 06, 05:20 PM looks like u still would need a booster.
garfield May 24th, 06, 06:35 PM looks like u still would need a booster.
Mines already hava a power booster complete with a brand new Master Cylinder (it just sucks having all around drums). I just had a freshly built 350 small block dropped in it last year with a lot of high performance parts (all street legal), and I'm afraid that when I actually do start driving this thing, that stopping it from anything over 55mph will be like trying to stop a freight train. :(
Joe Harrison May 24th, 06, 07:41 PM I'll speak up for matts, I have bought from them and he is a trustworth buisness to deal with. I could not get a very good from him on an A/C but no problem i just shopped until i found the right price for me. I say go for it from them. Your also getting the drilled and slotted rotors. If you reuse your your booster you will need a new mast for disc/drum and the rod in the booster will have to be changed.

Everett#2390 May 25th, 06, 04:40 AM Matt's set-up looks nice, and like he states assembled. But I would think for the money, a stainless line would be added, or an option at a reduced rate.
Another point, if he assembles, it would be nice if he would pressure check with nitrogen to make sure the caliper and he should attach the hose, whether rubber or not, doesn't leak. Nothing worse than getting it all together and fine out the square ring in the caliper leaks or its casing is porous. Sure would make returns simpler. but then, I'm suggesting to add more labor also.......higher price.
Matts is a good deal, assembled, drilled & slotted rotors, and a new hose.
Rod parts ain't bad, all stock items, but no hose.
I reckon both kits are SAE calipers vice Metric?
Would the wheel track be wider with a rotor hub?
thedugan May 25th, 06, 08:01 AM I did this kit
http://www.rightstuffdetailing.com/2004_pdf/camaro.pdf
includes everything but fluid and lines.
Good price and well built kit. They were also very easy to work with.

I see that they offer a non-power brakes conversion as well as a power conversion. Is the non-power verison worth the effort, or should a person simply do the power conversion if they are going to do it at all?
