Last night was t a club meet...One of the guys just back from Aussie...they drove 2 Bradfords and a Jupiter From Perth to Sydney, I think over 4000 kms, in 11 days...these are not young guys, well into their 60s and 70s..0ne of them is his 9th trip across Aussie in a Bradford. nearly All desert..carry water food, sleep on the road side. No air con. no heater for nights, and dodging kangaroos.

A Bradford is 2 cylinder, 10 hp, 1/4 mile in 54 sec, top speed 53 mph, 3 speed manual. cooling has no pump..by convection, no heater

I currently have a van version under full ground up resto in the workshop, and another for parts thu considering restoring that into a flat deck.
AND flying down to the other end of the country this Sat to look at a good van version runner to purchase...that way I have a working example to constuct the wooden frames from scratch. Plus use daily, along with the Camaro (engine going in this morning)

Out of interest, what sort of price would one of these in nice condition be worth in the rest of the world?

Steptoe, Do all the Semi trucks there use a tow dolly with a three axle trailer? Also, what is the max gross weight allowed on all trucks over there?

M8 I dont know...Thats Aussie...Not NZ....
hey someone noticed a few strainge things huh lol?
That is one of the Aussie, interstate trucks, they are huge, I believe they ofyten add a few more trailers on than that to...so heavy they take miles to slow down for a town...and a towm maybe a shack and petrol pump. Town to town in measured in days!!
U guys have know idea of how huge the Nullbour desert is....Aussie is bigger than the US. Even the cell phones dont work for 1000s of Kms !!
No re think, 3 guys as I describe above, in vechiles like above....
How many of u guys would EVEN consider doing something like that...I wouldnt!!!
NZ trucks, I think the limit is about 40 or 45 tonne gross.

Same here......On gross weight it's 40 tons (80,000 lbs.) 50 tons for live stock.

Imagine driving thru Death valley, except it is nearly the size of the US.
Got to hand it to them.
