View Full Version : Hello from new member
avs19 May 24th, 06, 10:28 PM Just thought I would stop in and say hello. I have visited this site on and off for about a year. I normally go by the handle of 1quik69 on other forums, but it seems that someone else has that name here. First come, first served. I am a retired electrical engineer and I live in northern California. My wife and I have been married for 34 yrs come this august. We raced NHRA stock eliminator for 13 years, from 1970 to 1983.Our car collection is as follows: 1970 SS/RS camaro, 1969 Nova, 1970 Nova, 1972 Nova, 1995 Saleen Mustang, 1969 Mustang Cobra Jet, 1968 Roadrunner, 2001 Dodge ram 2500 diesel, 2004 Mitsubishi Montero, and 2004 Glastron 175 boat. Our hobbies are traveling, drag racing, and spoiling our grandkids. I am looking forward to furthering my education on camaros and maybe I can help someone also. Talk to you all later.

click May 25th, 06, 08:39 AM Welcome to Team Camaro and how can we help you get a 1st Gen. camaro in that stable? :) new guys buy the :beers: and feel free to come often, stay late and turn the light off on the way out at night.
Our chat board is fun in the evening, after 7pm central time, hop in sometime. :)
avs19 May 25th, 06, 03:08 PM Click, I wish I could afford to get a first gen. I have been kicking myself in the butt for 30 years over not buying a 69ss with 396 4 speed for $1200 during the gas crunch in the 70's. I'm not sure that I would want to get into another project as I am just about in the middle of my 69 Nova project. It is a backhalved car with a dana 60 and a full cage that was a comp eliminator car all of its life. All of the rest of my cars are finished or in excellent shape when I bought them. I have a friend who has a 67 Camaro with a blown(as in dead) 331 in it with a 9" ford under it with a 4 speed . I have been trying to buy it from him for years, but we all know the story, "I'm gonna fix it up someday". Luckily he keep the car inside and the body is really straight. Thanks for all the welcomes and I look forward to shooting the bull with some of you on here.
Guido67SS May 25th, 06, 05:18 PM I think this place just got whole lot smarter. Nice to have you here avs19!
Now how's that go? Was it black to black or red to black, zzzt.
JimM May 25th, 06, 06:26 PM Welcome to Team Camaro!
quite a garage indeed, I like the mix.
and Click, a 70 is almost a first gen, and there's a precedent, we gave RamAirDave a pass.
