When I bought my 68 camaro (SB) there was a vertical opening on the firewall where the heater blower/box should be. This car has no A/C. I bought from Ricks Firstgen a 67-69 heater box firewall cover and a new blower motor. This part didn't even fit on the firewall and of course the cover fits a horizontal opening. I can't figure it out. I don't plan on driving in the winter but defrost is nice.

It might not have had A/C when you got it, but it had A/C when it left the factory. The 6" by 10" (about) vertical firewall opening is sure indication of an original A/C car.

John, look at the picture in this thread- http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53005&highlight=firewall+picture If your firewall looks like this one, your car originally had A/C. If it did, there are companies like http://www.americangraffiti.biz/ sell firewall covers that allow you to delete the a/c part but retain the heater functions. I do not have any personal experience with these, but do a search on here and you will find info/experiences onit.
