Hello all,
Brand new to the board and am glad to be here. I have a 69 camaro that was not originally a console gage and tach car. I have installed console gages using a repro console gage harness and and a mix of original and repro console gages. They are attached to a factory underdash harness that came out of a gage and tach equipped car. They all work. The tach is a "OER" repro tach. I am running a HEI ignition with MSD coil and module. When I first hooked it up it would peg all the way to the right when I turned the ignition on and would go back to zero when ignition was turned off. Nobody at Jegs or Summit seems to know what tach adapter will work if one is needed. MSD did send me a "filter" that splices between tach and the tach terminal on the distributor. It did not work. They sent me a larger filter and the tach appeared to work. Since this is an ongoing project car it has only idled about ten minutes twice. I go to fire it up this year and the tach pegged to the right again! Does anybody have this setup and can you tell me how you got the tach to work? Thanks.
